    great job,so i have one external antenna with two connectors for the router,that means i can only use one ? do i have to buy another antenna if i want to plug two conectors into my lte router??

    Hi Brandon...you invited any of us to comment or correct this video. Not much to correct, but to add. Yes, it is true that FCC and Canadian ISED have a Modular Approval Program, you want to tell developers that you can't simply add a modem in your device you are done. One critical step is to review the FCC and ISED Grant and find and fully understand the 'Condition of Applicability' listed in the Grant(s). If you, as the developer, can't follow this conditions, then you will have test the end-use device (re-test) as if the module was not already approved. And even if you can, there is another important bit of info to share. Which is that the original FCC ID (and/or ISED ID) pf the module will be listed on the end-use device's label....you will not generate and post one under your company name. Lastly, for the European RED, there is not a Modular Approval Program option. many (not all) of the testing will have be performed with the module in the end-use device. The good news it that most all countries in the APAC (Asia & As/NZ) and the Middle East all accept the RED as base evidence of Intentional Radiator testing. Most Central & South American countries accept FCC Grant as the base evidence. So...only two main suite of testing/certification: FCC/ISED Grant and EU RED reports... rob@deviceapprovals.com

    Such a unique content. I am here because I broke my iPhone 8 Plus diversity antenna while repairing it. It was the smallest connector. Then I learned that it is called diversity antenna. But the phone was working without any problem. Since I am a curious person and a computer engineer, I ended up here. Thanks for the content.

    Well, why does it have to be super fast or super slow? I think LTE-M would be much better if it was 500Mbps or maybe 1Mbps. Is not much but it is also not only 350Kbps.

    I got 2 channels because I'm in a spot only 2 vary strong channels... so than I attached my twin lead antenna to that paperclip than I got alot more channels "62"... a paperclip isn't a vary good antenna

      We're glad you've found our channel and that it's been helping you! To answer your question, I'd first like to ask what country do you live in? If the modem has the local bands for a your country the modem will work. All of our Skywire Embedded modem product briefs on NimbeLink.com will highlight frequency bands on page 2. So for the QBG95, it'll be here - nimbelink.com/Documentation/Skywire/4G_LTE_Cat_M1_Quectel/1002226_NL-SW-LTE-QBG95_ProductBrief.pdf As far as getting access to the local networks, that's a function of data provider, i.e. carrier / SIM card, that controls if the modem can get on a local network. Selecting that data provider and testing access to the target network is the action and a key decision to be made early in the development process.     Does the spacing for 2 LTE MIMO antennas need to be precise, or will an approximate distance of 3 inches be sufficient?

      The spacing does not have to be precise. 3 inches is fine. It is always best to also place them with different polarizations (one vertical and one horizontal) if possible too, but that is not always possible.       It's not super clear. The FOTA update process is set up to recover if power is lost or the connection is lost or if it's not completed for some reason. The Module is suppose to reboot back to the last version of firmware it had and restart. IF you force stop FOTA it should react in the same fashion resetting back to the previous version of module FW.     Thanks Brandon for putting this video together. Will Nimbelink offer eSIM services? Will Nimbelink offer Soft SIMs for some modems? Do we need a specialized SIM card such as eUICC to use eSIM features? Will ICCID change every time the eSIM connects to a different network? If so, how will we know which device is which?

    HI Kurt, if the TLS is moved from the "certified Module" to the application MCU, can we assume the "Module certification" is lost, consequently "end device certification" will need to be done entirely by the end customer ?

      Hi. Actually Nimbelink recommends the TLS be managed in the stack for the microprocessor / microcontroller. When the TLS is updated over time we din that the processors get updated much faster that the modules do for new FW versions. Also there are typically more resources, processing horse power, memory, in the processor than available in the modem / module. The modem “end device certification” is not impacted by moving the TLS out of the modem into a different section of your device architecture.     What is special about using the Nimbelink APNs? For example, NIMBLINK.GW12.VZWENTP? Does it just mean security when it reaches the tower or does it have anything to do with signal quality/strength etc.

      An APN allows device's network to connect to the internet. With the APN settings in place, your device builds a connection to a carrier's gateway. Part of this process involves the carrier using a defined APN network to choose the assigned IP address(s) and security settings where applicable. So APN are unique to the network you wish to connect. These can either be loaded at manufacture or in some cases can be pushed down or updated by your data / Network provider. APN is not related to signal quality/strength. These are impacted by the device design, noise, distance from tower and capacity. We have seen M1 connection denied by certain networks at peak usage times. If you have any additional questions feel free to reach out to Sales@nimbelink.com. :)
